Because of the popularity of the gallery, applications for bookings are made by individual artists up to three years before the event. From those applications the Trustees select a programme for each calendar year and agree the programme with individual artists, before publishing it. However, very occasionally individual artist may pull out at short notice, for unavoidable reasons. If that happens the Trustees endeavour to put on short-notice exhibitions for the regular visitors, rather than leave the gallery closed.
